- STARTING POSITIONS and TIMES will be determined according to earliest date of paid entry. All entries received by 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 29, 2008 will be eligible. A full field shall be 140 teams. All entries received are on a first-come, first-served basis. Entries must be accompanied by payment in full (Canadian Funds). Cancellations will be accepted up to August 22, 2008. The entry fee will be refunded, less a $25.00 administrative fee. NO REFUNDS AFTER AUGUST 24, 2008. All entries after August 22, 2008 must be made in cash, certified cheque or money order. If a team has to cancel that team cannot sell their spot to any other persons, but has to transfer to the next year or be refunded and the 1st team on the waiting list will be given that entry.
- The tournament boundaries will be all bodies of water accessible by water from Red Lake. (5 LAKES!!)
- Contestants under 16 years of age must have their parents’ written consent. One team member must be 18 years of age or older. All participants must carry a valid Ontario Fishing Licence.
- (A) All participants must wear life jackets or approved P.F.D. while travelling faster than trolling or drifting speeds. (B) All boats equipped with a tethered “kill switch” must use it.
- Only two walleye per day, one per member over 23" may be retained and three (3) fish under 18" or up to 5 fish under 18" The longest measurement of fish will prevail at the 18" side and the 23" side.
- A maximum of 5 (five) fish per team, per day, (three under slot and two over), may be presented for official weighing. Saugers are considered Walleye and for the duration of the tournament, will be allowed for weigh-in. No more than 5 (five) fish may be retained in any boat at any time. Infractions will result in disqualification.
- Fish will be weighed throughout tournament hours (until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday) to reduce stress caused by holding fish too long in live wells.
- The determination of stressed or dead fish will be made in the live well before weighing. In the opinion of tournament officials: - any fish not swimming upright will be considered stressed. - any fish not deemed capable of recovery will be considered dead. Stressed fish over 23" will receive a penalty of 16 oz. Stressed fish under 18" will receive a 50% weigh penalty.
- Each boat will be assigned a numbered identification device, which must be affixed to the right side of the motor or a clearly visible place at all times.
- Each boat must be checked by tournament officials at the beginning and end of each day. Contestants checking in late at the end of each day will be assessed an 8 oz. per minute penalty per infraction. ANY boat 5 minutes late will be ineligible for weigh-in and will have no weight for the day. FOR THE SAFETY OF EVERYONE, ALL CONTESTANTS MUST CHECK IN AT THE STARTING BOAT OR WEIGH-IN DOCKS AT EACH DAY END. Boats may be checked by tournament officials at any time during the tournament. Boats refusing to allow inspection by a tournament official will be disqualified. Any boat that does not check in with tournament officials is automatically disqualified from the tournament and the next years tournament.
- The Committee is not responsible for fizzing fish.
- Boats must not come into contact with another boat and the passing of objects between teams will result in disqualification. Teams must not tow another boat unless dangerous conditions exist. Obnoxious or disruptive behaviour towards non-competitors and competitors alike will be grounds for disqualification and/or rejection of entry applications.
- Aerated live wells are mandatory. Temporary live wells are acceptable. (i.e. large cooler with aerator). The use of water treatment chemicals which are legally available in Ontario is recommended in live wells.All fish must be kept in the live well at all times.
- All contestants may use live bait.
- All ties will be determined by the highest weight the second day.
- Any fish that are in question as to whether they are 18” or 23" will be measured by two (2) tournament officials who must show the Angler. All fish in the tub found with any weights will be penalized 16 oz. Tournament Directors will handle all disqualifications.
- The Committee encourages the use of Barbless Hooks.
- No alcoholic beverages or non-prescribed drugs may be on any competitor’s boat or consumed by any competitor while on the water. Infractions will result in disqualification.
- The tournament directors retain the right to change or amend these rules at their discretion. Final set of rules will be supplied at the Friday night rule meeting at the Legion Hall, Friday, August 31, 2007. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. A member from each team must register before 7:00 p.m. at which time the rules will be read.
- It is the intention of the Committee to provide an honest, sportsmanlike tournament. Contestants are reminded that the “spirit” of the rules will prevail in all judgement cases.
- There must be a team of 2 (two) persons per boat. The same 2 (two)competitors who start the tournament must finish, except in the case of an extreme and exceptional circumstance. The Committee will assign an alternate or aid in finding a replacement.
- The Committee encourages the use of cotton or wool gloves at all times when handling fish.
- Competitors may be disqualified by Tournament Directors for any violation of the tournament rules and will not receive a refund for their entry fee. Disqualification will forfeit any prizes owing to the competitors.

- Any tournament contestant may enter a written protest. The contestant will be required to provide a $100.00 cash deposit with each protest. The deposit will be refunded only if the protest is upheld.
- Stressed fish can still win the “Big Fish Award” AFTER the 16 oz. penalty is applied.
- Use of cell phones, marine band radios or walkie talkies or other communication devices constitutes disqualification if used for anything other than an emergency situation. Any competitor seen stepping ashore without approval or accompaniment by a tournament offical will be disqualified.
- There will be a “NO WAKE ZONE” beginning at the CHUKUNI BRIDGE AND EXTENDING PAST THE MARKERS. There will be a penalty of 16 ounces for any infraction.
